Welcome to my website!
Hi there! My name is Jack Chau, and I am a junior at Tufts University!
I have been programming for a little over three years now, and I have grown to be very comfortable with both front-end and back-end development. Within the field of Software Engineering, I am most interested in system optimization, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analysis.
I am currently working as a Software Engineering Research Fellow for the Department of Urban and Environmental Planning at Tufts. My job is to design a suite of programs to retrieve and analyze streaming/historical data from social media and housing websites. Check out my projects below to learn more about my job!
Most recently (April 2020), my team, mentored by Professor Shan Jiang, was funded by Tufts to further explore the connection between social media and the spread of COVID-19 using collected data.
In my free time, I enjoy power-lifting and playing frisbee. Currently, I am focusing on strength training and body-building. If you are interested, feel free to contact me for my split and routine!
This previous summer, I interned at athenahealth as a Software Engineer in the API Security Development Team!
